Need help trying to ID this baby. I bought it new 40 years ago.
Inside case says '352 284 085' under Movado logo, which I assume is the model number. Below that is '0001974' which I assume is the serial number. Black dial with no markings or the typical Movado lettering. Only mark on the back is '14 K GOLD' with the Movado logo stamped next to it. Very small stamp. A friend said it was rare, possibly built for the MOMA selection process in 1960.
He said its an ETA mechanical movement modified to look like a Movado movement. Any help would be appreciated. Does it say 19 jewels on the movement?
If it does it's probably the Movado calibre 1731. The Movado calibre 1731 is based on the Zenith calibre 1731.
Download Hd Loader Ps2 Fat Vs Slim. If you bought it between 1972 and 1978 this is probably right. Since the caseback says 14k gold I guess we assume it's white gold. Don't think they would mark it gold if it was plated. (who the heck plates things in white gold anyway? ) Is it valuable?
Who knows you would have to take it to get appraised. Don't think it's real rare, but hey, you never know. Here is what the case refernce number 352.284.085denotes.
FYI This numbering system was used by Movado from 1966 to 1971. 352 = Zenith calibre 1730 (19J). Are you sure this is the original movement or might it have been replaced? The calibre352 was made for Movado by Zenithfor the USA market. Engleski U 100 Lekcija Pdf Editor.
